SplitShot Transducer with High CHIRP Sonar and DownScan Imaging
The Lowrance SplitShot transducer features wide-angle high CHIRP sonar (200kHz) and high-frequency DownScan imaging (455/800kHz). At this frequency range, you can see picture-like images of what’s underneath your boat. The fish holding structures like weeds, trees, brush piles, etc are clearly distinguishable from the bottom.
Splitshot transducer can scan the water to the depth of 300ft at 455KHz and and up to 100ft at 800KHz. The 800KHz frequency range is best suited for shallow water bodies and provides better quality and high resolution sonar images of the bottom. You can target different species of fish like Bass, and Crappie with this Hook Reveal 7. The high resolution sonar images make it easy to detect fish near the bottom or in the structures.
The 455 KHz is better suited for deep water and although the results are not similar to 800KHz frequency but its still good enough to detect different species of fish.
The dual frequency range of DownScan imaging is productive for anglers who want to fish both in shallow lakes and deep sea. You don’t have to buy a separate trasnducer when you are fishing in a different locations. The SplitShot transducer is versatile enough to meet your fishing style.
SplitShot transducer can be easily mounted on the transom of the boat. There is also an option to mount it on the trolling motor. There is a good news for Kayak anglers. It can be glued to the hull of the kayak and produce excellent results. The sonar image quality is not effected when the sounder shoots through the Kayak. You can use Lowrance kayak scupper mount for mounting the transducer on Kayak.
The fish reveal feature is very particularly handy for the beginners who can have a hard time reading the fish finder. Fish Reveal is a trademark of Lowrance and it makes fish appear as arches on the fish finder screen. Other fish finders like Garmin and Humminbird display fish as dots in the down imaging sonar. But the proprietary technology of Lowrance identify the fish and display it as an arch. The benefit of this feature is that you can easily identify predatory fish near the baits or structures at the bottom like trees, debris, weeds, etc.
Hook Reveal 7 SplitShot features a 800 x 480 px 7″ display screen with SolarMAX capability. SolarMax offers excellent clarity and daylight visibility, even under bright sunshine. Hook Reveal 7 also features the split screen option to enhance the fishing experience. With up to 4 split screens, you can view different aspects of your surroundings simultaneously. This is especially beneficial when fishing, as you can have a map, DownScan, and traditional sonar chart all on screen at once. Additionally, you can customize the size of these splits to ensure that the panels you find most important are always visible.
The Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 SplitShot Fish Finder is easy to use, with a simple menu layout and dedicated keypad. With its touchpad interface, you can quickly navigate through menus and select options. The HOOK Reveal also has key functions at your fingertips, including arrow keys for navigating, an exit key, a select key, zoom in and out, and key for setting waypoints. You can get used to its keypad after only a few minutes usage.

The Lowrance Hook Reveal is a great fish finder for anyone looking for an affordable option. The side scan feature is my favorite, as it allows you to see logs and other structures in the water that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise. The imaging is really good, and I've been impressed with how well it works.
